Humorist Donates Proceeds to Shelter House
Author and syndicated humor columnist Lindsey Stokes will soon be in the Washington
D.C., area promoting her new book Planet Idiot: A Survival Guide. Stokes has been addicting millions of readers in 120 newspapers nationwide with her daily doses of "idiot behavior" including six papers in the Washington-Baltimore area. Planet Idiot is a collection of humorous anecdotes of life's little annoyances and the "idiots" responsible for them.
Lindsey Stokes will be at the Barnes & Noble in the Avenue at White Marsh Saturday, April 14, at 2 p.m. to sign copies of her book. She will also be at Barnes & Noble in Washington, D.C., Friday, April 20 at 12:30 p.m.
Ms. Stokes has decided to donate all author proceeds from the sales of her book in the northern Virginia area, this Spring, to Shelter House, Inc.
Shelter House, Inc., located in Falls Church, Virginia, is a United Way organization which helps homeless families turn their lives around.
**UPDATE!!** At a book-signing/fundraising event held at the Ritz-Carlton in McLean, Virginia, Lindsey raised, and donated, over $3,000 to Shelter House, Inc.
